Branson

2 weekends ago My parents took Wes, Turner, and I to Branson, MO for a nice long weekend. JoEllen and Leanna joined us. We had a lot of fun! Thursday night we took Turner to see Noah: The Musical. He loved it! He now proceeds to tell everyone that he saw God and Jesus (He thinks Noah is God). But, it was a cute musical with a lot of animals, real and animaltronic.
Friday we got up and ate breakfast at one of my favorites: Panera Bread and then ventured out into the freezing cold to enjoy our day at Silver Dollar City. Turner calls it Silver Dollar Disney!

Saturday we went down to the Boardwalk. Their Boardwalk is extremely nice with lots of shops and a huge fountain that shoots fire out on the hour every hour to music.

This is what Turner wants Santa to bring him! Maybe when Turner is 21 and is on his own insurance, Santa will bring it!Walking!

Making a wish There is a really cool place at the Boardwalk in Branson that is similar to "Build a Bear Workshop" but caters to boys! It is called Ride Makerz and it allows you to pick a car/truck and build it to your liking! Turner loved picking out a Hot Red car!

And, to end our trip on a great note, we got up Sunday morning and drove to Little Rock to eat at one of the best restaurants: PF Changs!!! Thanks Mimi and Papa for a great weekend!

Chatham Car Races

Believe it or not, the small town of Chatham where my parents live have a dirt track and host car races for 2 months every year. It is non-stop racing for about 2 hours straight with no down time! My parents kept Turner a few weeks ago, took him to the races, and he loved it so of course we had to bring him back. All he can talk about is the "chicken man" which is the name of one of the racers!

Hayride in Greenwood

A couple in our Sunday School Class always host a Halloween Hayride with tons of BBQ and a jumper for the kids. Here are a few pictures:

The Moon

Last week Turner and I sat outside and took pictures of the Moon. I tried to tell him about the moon but all he could say was: "Mommy, I don't want to live on the moon cause its too far away from you!" He does have a point!

We Can Go All The Way!

I have yet to blog about training for my first ever half-marathon coming up in January. DeAnn and I have been working out and running 5ks since this spring. We've been doing great, improving our time each race. My first 5k I ran in 37 minutes. Not bad considering it had this horrible hill that went up forever. Well, last night we ran at LSUS. The humidity had to be atleast 200%. But, overall we did really good. DeAnn wanted to come in at 29 min but we just missed that. We came in at 30:24, 2nd and 3rd place in girls! Oh, and our first mile we ran in 8:30! That is the best mile I have ever ran! So, HIGH-FIVE to us!
CORRECTION TO MY TIME: (Official Results were posted this afternoon)
Francesca McLelland 28:34.6
So, DeAnn and I did break 30 minutes!! YIPEE

Angela's Baby Shower

DeAnn, Jay, Wes, and I threw our friends Angela and Matt a couples' baby shower. They are expecting their first baby (girl) in November so we wanted them to be packed to the brim with diapers! Unfortunately, the LSU Tigers also 'played' Saturday night. Matt is not a fan of the Tigers so I had told the guests to wear their LSU gear to the shower. Well, Matt found out and this is what he, Angela, and her family wore to the shower:This is the wreath I made out of diapers. The boys watching LSU get stomped by the Florida Gators!Needless to say that now Wes will NOT allow me to throw another baby shower during an LSU Football game!

Visitors

We had visitors from Savannah, Georgia this week. Wes' friend Chris, his wife Lyndee, and their daughter Rachyl came in for a funeral. Chris is an Army Ranger and is about to go on another tour of Afganistan Monday. So, it was really great to see them but under not so great circumstances because Chris' grandfather had died.
