Can I help you buy or sell your home?

I have taken a risk by totally changing careers. I have gotten my Real Estate License and ventured out into this horrible economy to live on STRAIGHT commission!!! So, if you know of anyone in the Shreveport/Bossier area that wants to buy or sell their home, send them my way! And, here is my business card: (Picture done by the fab DeAnn Arnold)

My NEW Couch!

I splurged when I bought our new house and ordered a couch that should last atleast 100 years! The picture doesn't do it justice but it looks great in our living room and with all of our furniture. Plus, it is super comfortable and a lot bigger than our last couch! I love it!

Turner's Second Soccer Game

Well, Soccer went a lot better this weekend than it did last weekend. I have not posted pics of his first game, but I will get to them. Turner was much happier and actually wanted to play yesterday. And, he scored a goal! Turner's #1

The Water Park

The city of Bossier has added a great water park near our home. But, since summer is almost over, the water park will only be opened until Sept 30 so we've taken every opportunity to let Turner have some fun there. Turner getting sprayed

Beautiful day for practice

Soccer practice was great Wednesday. The kids had so much fun running and scoring goals, even if it was for the wrong team. Their coach did not show up but Wes, Steve, and Tim (all dads) jumped right in to get these kids started! Saturday will be the first game and I will have my camera and camcorder ready!

Hurricane Ike

Hurricane Ike rolled through on Saturday, which meant Turner's first Soccer game was cancelled. So, we sat at the window and watched the wind blow the trees completely sideways.

Soccer Season has Begun!

I am so excited! Turner is getting to play his first ever team sport: Soccer. We signed him up with the local YMCA with other 3 & 4 year olds. Well, last Friday was our first practice although Hurricane Ike decided to send rain clouds up our way so it was cancelled. But, I got a couple of pictures of the cute kids. They were so ready to play that Turner threw a huge fit when I told him we had to go home because of the rain!

Adoption Update (Or lack thereof)

I was trying to wait a bit on updating everyone on the adoption process until I here back from our agency on whether our dossier was returned. Kazakhstan has issued that Dossiers that have not made it to a region and specified a gender will be returned to be redone. They say that all children should be treated equally and therefor all children should have the chance to be adopted. So, we are now not allowed to specify whether we want a girl or a boy. Well, Wes and I asked for a girl in all of our paperwork.
We have not told our agency our plans yet but if our Dossier is returned we will probably drop out. We have not waited nearly as long as other mothers and fathers out there but I did not want a huge gap in age between Turner and a sibling. And, I loved the fact that our family would have diversity! A totally different culture to learn and incoporate into our 'American' heritage. But, things change.
Wes and I have a beautiful boy. Most parents waiting to adopt do not have any children. We are so lucky to have him which is why I can not complain or fuss about not getting a referral. We are just going to wait and see what happens next.

Power Rangers

Turner loves to play fight with swords and pretend he is a Power Ranger. I found these pool toys that look like sw0rds and bought 4 of them a few weeks ago. Well, we are down to 1! The other 3 have been completely destroyed by this very strong Power Ranger we call Turner!

We all Scream for Ice Cream

One of my weaknesses is Ice Cream! Well, a Baskin Robbins opened up last week in a shopping center right down from our house. So, Saturday night I loaded Turner and I in the car for a special treat. The place was packed and we waited in line for almost 30 minutes but it was well worth it! I let Turner pick whatever he wanted so he got a dip of chocolate on a cone! He was quite entertaining on the way home. He would say "Oh, no! My Ice Cream is melting!!" as it would drip down the sides of the cone onto his lap. He would ask for a napkin, proceed to wipe his shorts, and then the dip of Ice Cream would fall off the cone! Needless to say, he enjoyed it but it was very messy!!

GEAUX TIGERS!!!

What a nice way to start off the football season by watching our LSU Tigers play and win on Saturday morning. We were actually supposed to be in Covington this weekend enjoying a bit of time with Aubre, Garrett, and Isabella but this hurricane named Gustavf completely ruined our plans! So, we had to enjoy the game at our house at 10am with a few friends.
